FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  1. Why are children and families seen within the home or educational setting?
    It can be difficult for some children to talk and interact in new environments. If your child can be shy in new situations, then a home visiting or kinder or school based service may help them warm up and develop confidence.
  2. Will my child be eligible for a rebate through Medicare for private speech pathology services?
    Your child may be eligible for a rebate through the Chronic Disease Management CDM plan -previously the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Program. Your GP assesses your child's eligibility and is for individuals with a chronic (i.e. present for more than 6 months ) and complex (i.e. requiring ongoing care from a multidisciplinary team - the GP and at least two other health care providers) medical condtion. The plan provides a Medicare rebate for 5 individual sessions per calendar year.
  3. Will my child be eligible for a rebate through our private health insurance fund?
    Your child may be eligible for a rebate through your private health insurer. This will depend on your level and type of cover. It would be best to contact your private health insurer directly to determine if you are eligible for a rebate.
  4. What are the fees and how do I pay for the service?
    Fees are provided at reasonable rates and will be discussed prior to booking. Please contact us to discuss further. Payment is requested by cash or credit card (via a mobile device) on the day of your session.
